Slinger Signaller Training Courses
Course information:
- Novice operators 2-days training course.
- Experienced operator’s 1-day assessment on site or at our training centre.
Qualification:
- NPORS
Training includes:
- Carrying out visual pre-use checks of the lifting accessories.
- Attaching the load to the crane correctly and in accordance with the lifting plan.
- Giving the appropriate signals to the crane operator for the lifting, transferring and positing of loads in a safe manner.
- Detaching the load from the crane.
- Ensuring that the lifting accessories are stored correctly and reporting any defects.
- Working safely at all times.
- Health and Safety issues
- How to estimate and determine the weight of loads and centre of gravity
- An understanding of all lifting tackle for various applications
- Methods of Lifting and Slinging as well as an understanding of sling angles
- Selection of appropriate types of lifting tackle [Ability to isolate equipment that is faulty / fails to comply]
- Procedures for fault reporting
- A method for protecting loads from damage
- Attaching lifting equipment to the slings
- Carrying out a test lift/How to plan a lift
- Training on the various types of hitches that can be used when lifting
- Responsibilities of the slinger signaller
- Trained operator theory test
Plant Marshal Training Courses
Training options available:
• This is a 1-day training course for novice and the experienced operators
• This can be carried out at your site or at our training centre.

Who needs to attend this course?
Anyone with responsibility or direct responsibility when manoeuvring and reversing plant on site, for the safety of pedestrians and other vehicle users on site.
Course aim:
The Plant Marshal training course will provide you with the basic skills, knowledge and information to safely carry out plant Marshal duties across a wide range of industries.
Methods of training:
Contains classroom based tutorials, while a large portion of the training is through hand signals and practical exercise. The candidates will be required to demonstrate their skills through a range of activities.

- Personal protective equipment.
- Practical assessment and theory assessment.
- Risk assessment and safe systems of work.
- Relevant legislation.
- Who to allow on site.
- Protection of third parties.
- What are the hazards?
- Responsibilities and duty of care of the plant marshal.
